Japanese History of Edo Period to Meiji Restoration Video

These cover a lot of 9th grade information, but then cross over to 10 grade as it enters the 19th century and the Meiji Restoration, a crucial time in Japanese and Asian history. 
    We only watched one segment of the film, but feel free to watch all 6.
    When finished, ask yourself: How did the culture of Japan that Matthew Perry found in 1852 enable the Japanese to modernize so quickly over a 30 year period?  What traits in their society allowed them to overcome the dominance of European nations?
